The Queer Cucina

Just a boy who likes boys, cooking his little heart out. Using what my mamma gave me and drawing inspiration from growing up Italian and experiencing the rest of the world.

Family Secrets

Should I password protect this page? The password is…..(blank) a doddle doo.

Don’t tell Mom I put some of these on here.

It’s so important to honor tradition through food and keep family recipes alive—if they are any good. There’s no interest in your Aunt’s sh*t casserole. The good stuff only. If you have some family secrets to share, please reach out, love cooking recipes that have meaning.

This is the good stuff. A taste of “home,” anywhere.

Mexican Night

Of all cuisines I cook, Mexican has always been one of my favs. I love the colors and the flavors that come with it. It’s also my partners favorite cuisine, so it’s a win win.

We love Mexico. We make love in Mexico.

The Cookbooks that made me

My digital library and bookclub for Cookbooks. Check our what books shaped my cooking style and which ones I am currently cooking my way through.

Mi Cocina by Rick Martínez (Pre-Order)

I love Rick. He’s one of the more gorgeous humans who has an amazing talent in cooking. He really appreciates food and balance. His food has changed my life. One of my favorite people to cook with and cook for. I haven’t even seen the cookbook yet, but I love everything Rick cooks, so I know I will love this.

Basics to Brilliance by Donna Hay

Can’t go wrong with anything Donna Hay, but this one in particular is just an amazing concept. She starts with core base items and then use them in multiple dishes. She shows you how to be more versatile. Also, visually its just stunning food porn.

The Skinnytaste Cookbook by Gina Homolka

If you don’t know Skinnytaste, then you need to leave my website right now and go to hers. Gina is a legend. The recipes are plentiful, so you need to do some reading and narrow down, but you are guaranteed to fall in love with her.

Fire Island

Recipes for groups, not necessarily group sex.

The Pines is this magical queer Mecca where you can party most daystill 9pm, then cook a meal for 20 of your closest friends and some randos you may have picked up on the beach or in the marina. Then go back out till 4am. Some nights in a jock strap.

Running a house has taught me how to be efficient, while not coherent and put out some amazing healthy-ish food to feed the boys.

Get Baked

Life is always better with sugar. Sugar Daddy’s please direct your attention to my contact page.

I was always intimidated by baking, then I decided to embrace it and now I sometimes go through 50 lbs of flour in a month.

My mom owns this category, but I am trying to keep up. She’s precise, I am a little sloppy, but it mostly still comes out great. More than cooking, there is way more trial and error and error and error here for me, but I love the challenge.

Cucina’s Closet

The tools + Ingredients make all the difference. Some of my go-to’s that make it look like I work hard.

Mandoline Slicer by Progressive

I bought my first one of these at a hardware store for like $11. I have never turned back and now own several of these. Can’t beat the price. Watch your fingers. You will cut yourself. We all do it…be careful.

Malted Milk Powder by King Arthur

This is the secret to the most delicious pancakes you will ever make. Also a key ingredient for a few other cookies + cakes you will come across in life. It’s one of my secret ingredients that I am now disclosing.

Instant Pot. The one and only.

This is the one thing I would say you need right now. If you don’t have a pressure cooker, it’s time. You only live once.
